Draw a Smile
Established in 2009 by members of the British community, a team of committed youth wanted to make a positive and practical difference to the life of orphans. The key aim is to raise money for orphans that are less fortunate than ourselves, to help lead them to a brighter future. You also can help make a difference and go that extra mile for an orphan's pure and innocent smile.

Where the money goes?
- Project 1 - Egyptian Orphanage
We currently have contacts with orphanages in Egypt and will be working closely with them in order to establish the 'Egyptian Orphanage Project' for Draw a Smile. We plan to work with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) as well as other well established charities both in Egypt and in the UK to accomplish the essential requirements of the most needy orphanages in Egypt. Charities we are already in partenership with include Walou, FACE and AYB.
Why Egypt?
Egypt is home to more than 100,000 orphans most of whom suffer from extreme poverty and are deprived of essential facilities such as shelter, food and education.
As young Egyptians who have lived in both Egypt and the uk and have seen the different sides to Egypt, we would therefore like to harness together the skills and opportunities we have gained here in England to contribute positvely to both of these countries which have greatly influenced our personal and social development.
We have strong connections with contacts in Egypt to ensure our money, aid and donations go to where they are needed most.
We currently have maintained follow up teams based in Cairo and Alexandria to visit the orphanages regularly and ensure a positive difference is being made. Research and meetings are conducted on a regular basis in order to discuss how donations will be raised and used in the most effective way to benefit the orphans.
What's done with the money?
Money raised by Draw a Smile contributes to providing the following:
Basic food, shelter and medication for orphans.
Good health facilities and psychological support.
Basic education and life skills.
Vision?
- In the short-term we aim to maintain consistency and sustainability.
- In the long-term we aim to co-operate with orphanages in developing countries, other than Egypt and eventually orphanages worldwide; ensuring every orphanage has the sufficient needs to nurture a childs soul.
- Achieve a number of fundraising targets to become a world-leading charity organisation.
